In all seriousness, let’s get rid of the binary! Let’s get rid of the idea that there is a finite amount of love in the world, and that loving any one being means less love for any other. Love is not a zero sum game.

We are made of the stuff of stars. Our hearts are elastic, capable of stretching to contain the whole world in love. Our capacity for love is limited only by our imagination and rigidity. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking there is only a finite amount of love in the world, and that you must choose on whom you bestow it because it leaves you the poorer, with nothing left for anyone else (or yourself). I love my first child no less for having had more children. Love begats love begats love begats love.

Go out into the night and look up at the infinite sky, filled with stars and planets and galaxies and nebulae and dust and dark matter. That is how much I love Harry Potter. That is how much I love Draco Malfoy. Infinity cannot be contained within words, it can only be felt in the heart.
